In particular, it is the workforce provider for the clinical gambling harm services throughout the country, offering orientation and ongoing professional development for this sector. In addition, Abacus offers extensive experience in supervision, management and lecturing in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom.
Serving individuals and teams in the public & private sectors, Abacus is dedicated to providing outcome research for all training & interventions, maintaining a close association with New Zealand Universities & Polytechs to support this goal. It is a nation-wide provider of Professional Supervision for the workplace and is a NZQA registered provider offering NZQA and DAPAANZ approved courses.
Matua Raki are the national centre for addiction workforce development in New Zealand, based in Wellington. We work with organisations and people across the country and around the world to support the addiction workforce to minimise addiction-related harm. Te Pou o te Whakaaro Nui is a national centre of evidence based workforce development for the mental health, addiction and disability sectors in New Zealand. We work with a range of organisations and people including service providers (DHB and NGO), training and education providers, researchers and international experts. Organisations can use Te Pou’s resources, tools and support to improve their services. Te Pou includes Matua Raki (addiction workforce development) and Disability Workforce Development. We’re funded by the Ministry of Health.
